Winter Makeup Must Haves

winter makeup

Winter Makeup Must Haves
1) Nars Highlighter in Albatross. This is the perfect for a golden glow and in the winter I need all the glow I can get. The golden tones are simply perfection for a subtle glow.
2) Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara. It works amazingly with my less than pair droopy lashes. The slight tapered brush works nicely to apply the mascara evenly on every lash. The staying power is astounding.
3. Lancome Teint Visionnaire Foundation in 210. Buff. Best feature about this product would be that it includes the foundation and the concealer in one, which makes it perfect for traveling! This is a medium coverage foundation that melts into your skin like butter. It also is a skin correcting product that with use day after day can improve your skin remarkably.
4. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder. This is a MIRACLE product! It decreases the visibility of my pores and gives me that flawless, flawless (had to, couldn't resist) finish. A little goes along way.
5. Mac Lipliner in Spice. LOVE! Blends well with any lipstick and gives you that oh so popular look, PLUMP!
6. Benefit's Hoola Bronzer. I always enjoy a nice matte contour so this is perfect for me all year round. Glides on and blends out PERFECTLY!
7. Mac 'Pinch Me" Blush. The rosy tint brings life to my face especially in these winter months.
8. Nars Creamy Concealer in Vanilla. LIFE! This is one of the best highlighting concealers on the market. A little goes along ways and it lasts all day. Make sure to set it with powder and the staying power is like no other! I use it to highlight my entire face.
9. Kat Von D in Trooper. Deserves the BEST LIQUID EYELINER OF ALL TIME superlative. The brush is so easy to work with, it glides on the eye evenly and stays all day...need I say more?
10. Nars Audacious Lipstick in Anna. A creamy rose pink lipstick. It wears splendidly. When in doubt of what to wear this is my go to.
11. Laura Mercier Secret Brighting Loose Powder. I use it to set my highlighted areas. It  brightens the concealer and also helps blurs any imperfections. It's quite the magical product.
12. Smashbox Hydrating Primer. It hydrates the skin before you apply your foundation which is necessary in the winter months.
13. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. Crème de la crème of bottom lash mascara. The wand is able to apply mascara to the smallest of the small eye lashes. I even use it on my inner corner lashes periodically and the best part is its price, extremely affordable.

These products work well with my combination skin. I live in a cold climate in the winter months so I wanted to share what makeup I use. Hope you all enjoy and until next time...

January Birchbox Let's Do This

January Birchbox

This month's Birchbox was a little disappointing. My last 3 or 4 boxes have been so amazing that I assumed (you know what they say when you assume anything) that this one would be as well. However, I will say these products will be excellent for traveling purposes. I received a shampoo & conditioner, hand cream, eye cream, and a travel size eyeshadow palette which is pretty well rounded when it comes to a sample box. I was just hoping for more cosmetics to try. So overall, I would say this box is okay. Fingers crossed next month's is better. If you're interested in trying out a sample box I would definitely suggest Birchbox, click here to subscribe. Until next time....

Reflection For Resolution

Let me think really hard about last year's resolutions. Did I stick to any of them, and the answer my dear friends would be NO! What an absolute waste of a year could have, should have, and did not. As always my number one resolution should be to lose weight especially with an upcoming wedding you think I would be on the band wagon and let me tell you that the exact opposite of that has happened! I've gained a good twenty pounds and how horrifying is that but I only have myself to blame. I have been going on and off diets for the last three years like a maniac and it is quite ridiculous. I have to be  honest this year I was the worst I have ever been. Eating rubbish and whatever I fancied that day. That is no way to live. At this point, I have no restriction in dieting and am lucky if I hit the treadmill once a week! What?!? Who is this woman??? I look in the mirror and I have no idea who is looking back at me. The glimpse of sunshine in my own eyes have vanished. I have now detoxed my body entirely and I'm more than ready for my challenges up ahead. I can no longer blame my surroundings, schedules, and or others to get what I need to get accomplished. This is my I can do it love letter to myself and to others who may need it. It is never too late to accomplish any goal you set your mind too. I absolutely cannot wait to reinvent myself. I want to prove to myself that I am able to successfully achieve this goal that I have longed for so many years and that would be simply put to be healthy. Such a simple word with meaningful power! Just like Thomas the train would say,"I think I can I think I can." Quote of the year. With all of this being said I just want you to know that I struggle, you may struggle and or know someone that has the same struggle just know you are NEVER alone in this! I will update you in roughly a month with my progress with the weight loss. So until next time........
